报告题目：Large scale MBB(Mobile Broad Band) data mining and analysis
Dr. GuangJian Tian received the Ph.D. degree in computer science and technology from the Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi’an, China, in 2006. Before joining Noah’s Ark Lab (Hong Kong), he worked as a Vice-Chief Engineer in China Real-time Database Co.Ltd, before that he was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Electronic and Information Engineering of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and was also a statistician in SPSS Software Development Co. Ltd for statistic and data-mining algorithms research and development. Dr. GuangJian Tian has extensive research experience in academic and industrial areas. He has designed and developed some data-mining algorithms in several commercial products. And now, he is conducting large-scale machine learning and data mining theory and algorithm research in Noah’s Ark Lab (Hong Kong).
About the presentation: Large scale MBB(Mobile Broad Band) data mining and analysis
The talk will briefly introduce the background and motivation of big data research in order to grasp the trends of big data. Then we will discuss the characteristics of the big data-MBB data in Huawei and review the current distributed computation platforms for big data analysis & mining. Based on the survey on the current academic/industrial distributed computation platforms, we developed our own distributed real-time big data analysis & mining platform StreamSMART. Except for the distributed computation systems, we will also introduce our current research on data mining and machine learning algorithms such as deep learning, random decision hash etc. Our future research direction and plan will be shown as well.
